One of the most important, but often overlooked, pieces of information related to a beach day in Ventnor – you need a beach badge in the summer. Locals can purchase seasonal beach badges at the beginning of the season. But, if you’re coming only for the day, you can purchase them on the beach from the badge checkers. Be sure to bring cash with you.

Are there playgrounds in Ventnor?

Ventnor has a magnificent playground for kids of all ages at Somerset Ave and the beach. The playground is equipped with a cushy surface for all and features and areas for very young children (toddler swings, music features, etc.) and for more active, older children (slides, tire swings, areas to play hide and seek, and much more). Can I bring my dog on the beach in Ventnor?

Ventnor embraces its pet-loving visitors, making it an ideal destination for dog owners seeking a beachside getaway. Between May 15 and September 30, leashed dogs are welcome on the beach from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, but only on areas washed by the high tide line. During the rest of the year, from October 1 to May 15, dogs can be walked on a leash on the same designated beach areas. Where are the public bathrooms in Ventnor?

Ventnor prioritizes the comfort of its visitors, and that includes providing well-maintained public restrooms throughout the beach area. Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., these convenient facilities can be found at the following locations:

  • Newport Avenue adjacent to the Community Building

  • Suffolk Avenue by the Tennis/Pickleball Courts

  • On the Fishing Pier on Cambridge Avenue.

Is there handicap access to the Ventnor beach?

Yes! Ventnor offers many locations of ramp access to the beach and beach mats are located at Suffolk, Dorset, Newport, Derby, Oxford and Somerset Avenue beaches.

  • Surf Chairs are available daily through Beach Patrol from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, but must be reserved. Call 609-823-7948 for reservations.

  • Accessible Parking is available at kiosk and metered stations located at Suffolk and Somerset avenues, and Newport and New Haven Avenues.

  • Accessible Restrooms are located at the Suffolk Avenue tennis courts, Cambridge Avenue Fishing Pier, Newport Avenue playground, and New Haven Avenue library.

Where can I park in Ventnor?

Parking around town is generally easy. There are metered spots throughout the city and you can pay via the popular app, ParkMobile. If you’re coming from Philadelphia, you’re in luck – this is the same parking app the city of Philadelphia uses.
